One of the ways that I seek inspiration is by examining the work of people who are much more talented than myself.
While waiting for the snow and ice to melt, I was browsing motorcycle sites to see what the possibilities are for my little ’78 Honda CB400 Hawk II.
I found it over at Bike Exif with this bike.
I’m definitely going with the knobby tires. Where I live there are lots of dirt roads.
I’m thinking the Shinkos might be a good choice. Or Kenda Big Block’s like the Classified Moto has on it.
I am having a hard time finding Shinkos that work on my CB400. The tires need to be tubeless, and most of the Shinkos I’m seeing are tube-type.
I actually like the way the tires look on that Classified Moto bike, but I don’t know what they are.
Rather than dirtbike handlebars, I’m going with euro bars. I like the tank from 1976 Honda CB360T. I’ll be on the hunt for one of them this summer at swap meets.
I was already planning on powder coating the Comstar rims a satin black. Ideally, I want the entire bike to be all black. I’m going for a less of a clean look than this bike and more of a Mad Max sort of thing.
I’d like louder exhaust and less shine on my bike.
