I ripped apart the 1977 XS750 engine. I removed the cams, heads and cylinders. I needed to order pistons, but I wanted to make sure the engine was worth rebuilding and I wanted to make sure it hadn’t been rebuilt once already.
Everything looks as I would expect. This bike sat outside for awhile, but not too long. Judging by the condition of the rubber gaskets, this bike was getting love not that long ago. All of the rubber parts I’ve encountered on this bike have been supple and fairly fresh.
Once I get the pistons and rings, I’ll bring it to the machine shop and have the cylinders honed and heads serviced.
