Here’s a sweet little street tracker for sale in Lake Havasu, Arizona. It’s a 1978 Yamaha SR500. It has a custom seat, lights, looks like new paint (powder?) on the frame. At $1,800, it looks like a good buy. For reference, here’s a list of SR500s I’ve written about. This bike is definitely priced on… Read more »

I love these old two-strokes, but this seller is fucking nuts. He or she basically has a frame, what might be a complete engine and a bunch of parts scattered across their garage floor. So where do they come up with asking $2,000? No idea. Realistically they have about $400 sitting there. No one is… Read more »
If I had $475, I would drive to New Hampshire tomorrow and buy this 1973 Yamaha RD350. It makes a great donor bike. I want it. Being broke sucks.
The guys at Vintage Steele in Vermont are at it again. This time they’ve went and built themselves a custom 1980 Yamaha XS650. These guys are into XS650s. A few weeks ago they were trying to sell this 1978 XS650 for $3,500. This latest creation looks pretty sweet. I like how they ran the exhaust… Read more »
Here’s a custom 1980 Yamaha XS650 for sale in Yakima, Washington. If you like the color scheme, I could see spending around $3,000 for a bike in this condition, based on the one photo and seller description. It does have issues, so maybe $2,500. For me, I don’t care for the color scheme, so I… Read more »
I found this bike for sale in Maine. It’s a 1972 Yamaha R5 that has been completely rebuilt from the frame up. It looks badass. If I had the cash, I would driving to Maine to check this out. If it’s as nice as it looks in the photos, I actually think the seller might… Read more »
I found this 1978 Yamaha XS1000 for sale in Tusculoosa, Alabama. There’s only one photo of it, so it’s hard to see what’s been done to it, but it’s been cafed. It looks really nice and probably worth $2,500.
I found this 1979 Yamaha XS650 for sale in Minnesota. It would make a great donor bike for a winter project, but $1,050 is too much. I’d be into this bike for around $700.
Here’s a 1978 Yamaha RD400F Daytona for sale in Chelan, Washington. The seller is asking $2,900 for it. It’s not worth that. The bike doesn’t run. It’s been ripped apart by at least two different people. According to the seller, the electrical on this RD400 is all dicked up. Even though it’s a rare, realistically,… Read more »
There’s no way in hell I would pay anything approaching the $3,300 this person is asking for this Yamaha RD400. It looks like a 1977. According to the seller the bike hasn’t been ridden since 1992. I for the life of me do not understand why people think that a bike that’s been rotting in… Read more »
