I’ve owned this 1978 Honda CB400 Hawk II since 2013. I paid $650 for it. I’ve cleaned it up a bit and did a few performance upgrades and I’m into the bike for about $2,000. Here’s what it looked like when I bought it. It ran OK, but it was all 1970s. Those mirrors, big… Read more »

If you’ve been following along, I’ve been upgrading the lights on my 78 Honda CB400. Back in November I did the tail light and turn signals, now I’ve put in a new headlight and front winkers. I torched my new tail light in the process. I don’t recall what I was actually doing or thinking… Read more »
I’ve had this bike for a few years now. I’m finally getting around to some of the cosmetic improvements I’ve been wanting to do. This time I’m cleaning up the back end lights. This 1978 Honda CB400 has all of the original lights. Aside from the fact that I hate the huge plastic things created… Read more »
Here’s a custom 1974 Honda CB750 for sale in Rockville, Maryland. The seller is asking $12,000. It has some nice mods, like a custom 4-into-1 exhaust, gas tank and seat. It looks pretty cool, but I’d have a hard time coughing up $12,000 for it. There’s no mention of any engine work and the triangle… Read more »
Have you ever been riding your motorcycle down a beautiful country road, blasting through s-curves, but hit a bump and it feels like you went airborne? I’ve been riding this ’78 Honda CB400 for about 4 years now. I’ve never been impressed with how it handles, but it’s a light bike. Lately though, it’s been… Read more »
I don’t know, man. Check out this 1978 Honda CB400A for sale on Craiglist in Warrenton, Virginia. The seller is asking $2,800 for it, which is crazy to me. I have this bike, but the non-automatic one. Now granted I have to shift mine the old fashioned way, but I paid $650 for it. This… Read more »
There’s a pretty nice looking 1973 Honda CB350 for sale in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The seller is asking $2,500 for it. At that price, they’re looking for someone who appreciates the bike for it as a stock bike. For someone like me who’d want to chop it up, I wouldn’t go more than $1,800 for it.
I’m a huge fan of CX500’s – it’s like a poor man’s Moto Guzzi. Here’s a chopped up 1980 CX500. I’m not a huge fan of how this bike came out, it looks off-balance from a design perspective, but it’s got a lot of nice parts, so anyone looking for a bobber, this could be… Read more »
I don’t understand what an automatic means in terms of a motorcycle, but here’s a 1978 Honda CB400 with an automatic transmission for sale in Barre, Vermont. I have this exact bike, except I have to shift mine manually. I paid $650 for mine and I actually bought it in Barre, Vermont. I think I… Read more »
My first bike was an SL. This 1971 Honda SL175 for sale on Craigslist looks right. The price is crazy. I think I paid $250 for my SL, this one is on the market for $2,200. But these bikes are trendy right now. I wish I still my old one.
