I love this 1977 Yamaha XS650 on auction at eBay.
It’s a great looking scrambler with a ton of great upgrades.
The auction ends on Saturday evening. The reserve hasn’t yet been met, but there’s a buy it now price set to $5,000. If you get this for less $5,000 and you can pick it up locally in Arkansas, you’re probably going to get a good bike.
Here’s what the auction description says:
This 1977 Yamaha XS 650 has been extensively modified for reliable, stylish use on the slightly faster paced roads of today. Additionally, we feel that the fun sometimes begins where the road ends, and building a bike for that purpose need not compromise comfort or style. To accomplish this, a completely new and modern suspension was professionally set up with inverted forks from an RM 250 and piggyback gas reservoir shocks in the rear, sprung comfortably for a 190 lb rider. Handmade touches abound throughout the bike, from the custom light mounts, guards, and completely hidden electronics. A handsome hand stitched seat recalls the bikes of yesterday, while the Pro-Taper bars and a 320mm front brake setup give us the benefits of today. The bike is profoundly reliable. It needs nothing. The motor starts easily, and makes excellent power through the rev range. It uses the stock carburetors for increased reliability, although the charging system has been updated to a Permanent Magnet Alternator.
